Field Technician

Position Summary: The Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF) is immediately seeking a temporary, full-time field technician to join the conservation team to conduct and promote habitat management and restoration activities on nearly 17,000 acres of conserved lands throughout the Galveston Bay watershed. GBF staff will provide habitat restoration and native plant nursery management training, supervision, and direct feedback throughout the term.

Specific Duties: Assist with land conservation management activities for habitat restoration of coastal prairie, mixed hardwood forest,and freshwater wetland including:

• Mechanical removal and herbicide treatment of invasive species, brush clearing, fence/gate repair, trail maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation duties, etc.
• Plant material collections for propagation and assistance in prairie and wetland nursery operations
